A TRANS look at Dignitas Infinita

In the context that the role of trans people within the church is the same as that of any other Christian person and given the fact that the conclusions of the synod do not address gender identity, this presentation/workshop takes a TRANS look at the Declaration of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith Dignitas infinite on human dignity, which has generated a situation of lack of understanding among the TRANS collective due to the approach that this statement makes to the reality of the body as a holy and sacred space that is broken in the context of gender transition. We have the presence of Niurka, who will initially share her testimony as a TRANS woman in relation to the feelings that this statement awakens and her vision of the approach this document makes to the body. In a second moment, she shares in a more general way the feeling that this statement awakens in the TRANS collective. Finally, she addresses human dignity and its implications for the TRANS collective on a theological level in the context of this declaration. The presentation ends with a summary, conclusions and challenges.
